
ABOUT SIMON FIELD
A Musical Journey
Simon Field (20) began playing the French horn when he was 10, and joined the Milwuakee Youth Symphony Orchestra his 7th grade year. As a high school freshman he won a Wisconsin Philharmonic Shining Stars scholarship. He has had the honor of performing with the The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as a concerto competition semi-finalist, in the Music For All National Honors Orchestra (2019 and 2020), the John Philip Sousa National High School Honors Band in Boston, and with the MYSO Senior Symphony tour in Ireland. He has earned multiple exemplary awards for horn for WSMA, as well as competing at the state level for trumpet.
He then went on to earn a Premiere Artist Scholarship from Jacobs School of Music in Indiana, and perform with the Philharmonic Orchestra and Brass Choir. Currently, he is a substitute for the Lima Ohio Symphony Orchestra, and studies horn performance with Jeff Nelson at the Jacobs School. When he’s not practicing or teaching, Simon teaches log rolling, composes, arranges and enjoys creating short films.
